IB Visual Yr 1

Using the pillbox hat that I made out of pills. I was inspired to make a digital piece inspired by the hat and what the hat represents. I took a photo of myself with the hat on then turned the photo pink. I then used my editing app to add cool and dark blue hues into my skin, the hair and the hat. I used the image to make an advertisement and then I was inspired to make a fake drug advertisement inspired by women's struggles in the 1950's.

The Twins, is meant to mirror the possible effects of drug usage.I displayed it with the mounting to make it look like a window frame. The piece itself looks like a pretty valley with a river and lots of greenery but it’s significant because when the piece is displayed as a window frame it shows how the naked eye only sees the beauty of society. We often overlook the harshness and true nature of the world. The twins are meant to represent the hidden issues in society.

Being inspired by the condition, Comorbid P.T.S.D, I named the piece Bridgit. Essentially the piece shows a girl with mascara running down her face. My theme is addiction and I wanted to display the effects and consequences of addiction. Comorbid PTSD is a psychiatric disorder that includes depression and drug abuse. The reference of addiction isn’t necessarily sympathized with, in this piece it is because the user feels compelled to use because of their internal struggles.
