About Me

Untitled_Artwork.jpeg

I'm Alisha Sampat, a senior at Clarkstown North. I graduate in June and will be attending SUNY Binghamton. Although I will not be pursuing a career in art, I still will continue to take art classes throughout college to help express my creativity. I'll be going to SUNY Binghamton in the spring! I'm super excited for college but the one thing I'll miss most about North is the art department at North. It's amazing and I couldn't take so many classes that I wanted to, but I'm so grateful that I had the opportunity to be apart of this community. CHSN's art department is amazing and like one big family.

My style of art has changed over the last 4 years. My freshman year I was a perfectionist, and it didn't reflect well on my creativity. My sophomore year was a confusing time when it came to my creativity. My junior and senior year I really found myself. The freedom that I got during IB Art allowed me to make whatever I want. I realized that I enjoyed grotesque and darker art. I had the ability to let me anger and frustrations out in my art. Being an IB Diploma Candidate, taking several higher level classes and having a fully booked schedule since my freshman year, art was the only time I had to let go while also being productive.
